Coupon Preview for 5/3

Common Sense with Money has a preview of this week's coupon inserts HERE

There will be 3 inserts this week, but keep in mind that the $ amount of the coupons as well as the coupons themselves vary by region, so no guarantees that you will get all of these coupons, or that they will be for these exact amounts - this just give you an idea of what to expect.

I forgot my camera, so the pic was taken with my phone and really isn't great, plus it doesn't even begin to show you our little crowd. FREE Lunch at Domino's tomorrow

Apparently you can get free lunch and cheap ice cream if you play your cards right tomorrow! :) Domino's is offering their new bread bowl pasta FREE for carryout between 11 am and 1 pm tomorrow. 1 per person is my understanding. I did call and confirm that the Galley location here in the Springs is participating, but you'll definitely want to call ahead and make sure your location is in before heading out for your free lunch!

Baskin Robbins 31 cent scoop night - tomorrow night!

In honor of America's firefighters, Baskin Robbins is hosting a .31 scoop night tomorrow, Wednesday April 29th from 5 to 10 pm. Go HERE for the details! I've seen a couple of Springs locations that are advertising this in their window, but you may want to call ahead to be sure your location is participating. Enjoy and thanks to all of the firefighters out there!

FREE Marcal toilet paper

Thanks to Carrie at Springs Bargains for posting about this. In the 3/8 SS insert and the 4/5 SS insert, we received coupons for a FREE roll of Marcal Small Steps toilet paper. However, the single rolls are apparently a little bit hard to come by. Someone indicated that they found them at Fort Carson's commissary, so I checked with the Peterson AFB commissary and sure enough, they have them too. So, if you have access to the commissary, go pick up your free toilet paper!

Coupon Preview for 4/26

Here's a preview of the coupons that are coming in this Sunday's paper.

Nothing crazy exciting, but the Johnson & Johnson one is great for some free Buddies soaps, and I like that there's one for canning jars since I plan to do more jams and things this summer. Wait for a good sale and use the Colgate one to get some extremely cheap or free toothpaste! :)

Money Saving Methods Outside of the Bargain/Coupon Shopping

So I've been wanting to do a post about a couple of good ways to save money on things you need other than the coupon/sale matching, drug store bargain finding, etc. I'm sure that most of you know about craigslist, and if you don't, you should definitely get to know it. HERE is the link to go check it out. I've used it to buy several items and have had great success with it. A few weeks ago I was needing a booster car seat for my 3 year old and I was planning to run to Target and get one. I decided before I left to just quickly check craigslist and see if there was anything decent out there. Turned out that a family was selling like 4 different booster seats for $8 a piece. I met them on base nearby, and I ended up buying a booster seat for $8 AND the super nice people said here, just take both of these, it's nice to have one for each car, so I got 2 booster seats in great shape for $8. Loving it, and my little boy was SO excited! I've also used craigslist to sell a few things. And, every area's craiglist site has a FREE section where people post free items that they want to get rid of. If you're one that is not in the loop about craigslist, you really ought to check it out! :)

Now, as I said - I'm sure that most of you have heard of and are probably using craigslist yourselves. However, another option that you may not be aware of is called Freecycle. Go HERE to find a Freecycle group in your area. You join the group, and then you can sign up to receive an email every time somebody posts something (I'd recommend setting up an email address specifically for freecycle emails.) Anyway, the whole point of Freecycle is to keep good, usable items out of landfills. You can post things you'd like to get rid of as well as things you're looking for. You'd be amazed what you can find on there. People list everything from newspapers to clothes to computers to treadmills to furniture to appliances, etc etc. I recently got rid of a small stack of Highlights magazines from like a year ago since my daughter has all of her more current ones to look at. They went to a family who was so excited to have them for their kids, and if I hadn't posted them on freecycle - they would have just headed for the landfill. The great thing about freecycle is that everything posted must be absolutely FREE! It is not a place for people to sell things. So, just thought I'd throw this out there. If you haven't checked it out yet, you may want to!

Albertson's deals 4/22 to 4/28

If you're lucky enough to have 3 $1.50/1 coupons from the 4/5 RP insert and get the 3 boxes of cereal for only $2.50 - add the free milk and bread to that and you have a GREAT deal! If you only have the $1/1 coupons from the 4/5 RP insert, you can still get the 3 boxes for $4, and with free milk and bread - it's still a great deal!

My Safeway Run Tonight

First, I have to say that it was SO nice to leave the house ALL alone tonight. It has been a long while since I left without at least one child, and usually 3. Once the kids were in bed, I headed out for my Safeway run. Grand total spent on the items pictured....

$15.43!! I actually kind of lucked out. I separated my purchase into 2 transactions. When the first transaction was finished - no $10 Catalina printed out. So, I asked about it and it turned out that the catalina machine was broken. Fortunately, the manager was my cashier and she decided to just subtract the $10 for the first one from my second order and then proceeded to subtract the $10 from my 2nd transaction right off. So, transaction number 1 came to $14.74 and number 2 came to .69!! I left Safeway smiling. Here's a run down of what I got:

7 Electrasol Finish Powerball (these alone would have been $28 at the SALE price!)
1 bag of Wacky Mac
6 Capri Sun Sunrise 10 packs
3 Chef Boyardee cans of pasta
4 Bertolli pasta sauces
2 Campbell's Select Harvest soups
2 Skippy peanut butter
6 Pasta Roni boxes of pasta

The only item I didn't have a coupon for was the Chef Boyardee cans. I only got those because I needed filler items to get my promotion totals to $30.

By the way, I did not purchase any of the coupons I used. I get 2 newspapers each week, and after that all of the coupons I used are ones that people save for me and I pick up every week or 2. I simply did a craigslist post requesting the Sunday inserts if anybody gets the paper and doesn't use them. It ends up being a little trip around town on Mondays, but as you can see - it pays off nicely!

Sunday Coupon Preview for 4/19

Go HERE for a preview of the coupons we'll be getting in this Sunday's paper!

Some of my favorites:
$2.50 Finish/Electrasol Powerball tablets
$1 Huggies Bath & Body product - these can be used to get free wipes at Wal-Mart
$2 Johnsons Baby Care wash or lotion

What if I Don't Get My CATALINA??

First, for those who don't know, CATALINA's are those coupons that print out after you've made a purchase. For example, register rewards at Walgreen's. If you're like me, you've had the frustrating experience of carefully planning out your purchase to ensure that you have everything you need for whatever offer it might be, and then you pay and your receipt prints and you watch the little CATALINA printer and...nothing... This happened to me the first time I did the Huggies deal at Walgreen's several weeks ago. The cashier claimed that I didn't get a $10 register reward because I used register rewards to pay for my items (they were NOT the Huggies register rewards). I knew this wasn't true. So, I called the CATALINA company. Their number is 1.888.8COUPON. I spoke with a very helpful lady who looked up the information based on the numbers on my receipt. She put me on hold for a second and came back and said - I love these ones. The system told me that you should have received the $10 RR, but that the printer wasn't working. She was mailing it out to me and I should receive it soon. It's nice if you can resolve these issues in the store, however if you can't - this is a great way to get the issue taken care of! Have any of you had a similar experience? Ask away if you have questions!

One More K-Mart Update

OK girls (and guys if you're reading) - after seeing some of the online ads for the super doubles and triples next week, it appears that some stores really are doubling coupons up to $4 value. Although the national customer service guy got back to me and said that wasn't the case, I think he may have been misinformed...again. My suggestion - go into your store and try it out with a $3 or $4 coupon. Worst case - take the item back or don't buy it if it doesn't work out. I would LOVE to hear if anybody is able to double $3 and $4 coupons up to $6 and $8. It's definitely worth a shot since the customer service seems to be all over the board about what the story is!

A Little Bit About Me

In case anybody is interested, I thought I would add a little area with some information about the person behind "Saving Like Nobody's Business." Many of you know me, so feel free to skip over this little post. :) My name is Beth and I am an LDS stay at home mom of 3 little ones. They are 5, 3 and 7 months. I had worked full time while my husband attended law school up until our youngest was born last September. I love staying home with them! I am also the primary president in my ward at church, which is keeping me nice and busy. I am definitely not a money saving expert, but I have learned a lot since entering the world of couponing, sale matching and money saving in late January of this year. I LOVE finding a great deal and I can't wait to share my deals with other people so that they can get in on it too. So, that's why I started this blog. We currently live in Colorado since late November when my husband was assigned to his first air force duty station here. We are enjoying it very much! Here is a picture of my kiddos with the Easter bunny last weekend.

BOGO FREE Purex coupon - print it now!

**Update: Sorry if you didn't get these coupons. They went REALLY fast!!
Go to my red printable coupon sidebar and click on "" at the bottom. When you get to the coupon screen, put in zip code 43040 and print the BOGO Purex coupon. If you have a CVS, you can match this with the BOGO Purex sale going on this week and get 2 free! If not, you still ought to be able to score some cheap laundry detergent with these!

One more K-Mart update

I just wanted to let everybody know that I did confirm with K-Mart's national customer service, and there are not any stores doubling up to $4.00 coupons (which would double to $8) Some of the communications they sent out made it sound like that, but they meant that they would double up to $2 coupons, which would double to $4. Just wanted to make sure I let everybody know that. If you use a coupon for over $2, it will not be worth anything more than $2. Also, in MO, they are tripling coupons up to .75, so a .75 coupon would be worth $2.25 - not too bad! I'm bummed that the springs stores aren't participating, but we were in on it the last 2 times, so it's ok :)

Safeway Deals This Week - April 15-21

Here are some of the deals I see at Safeway this week. Check the ad for other deals HERE.

.88/lb - red seedless grapes
.98 each - red bell peppers (cheaper at King Soopers this week)
$3.88 - 8 lb bag of navel oranges (that's only about .49/lb!)
**Also, I was in my Safeway today intending to use the rain check I got on the 4lb strawberries for $4.88 from last week. To my surprise - they were still that price for 4 lbs. So, I get to hold on to the rain check for now.

other grocery items:
2/$6 - Breyer's ice cream, use the .75 coupons from the 4/5 insert and get them for $2 each - not quite the steal from a couple weeks ago, but still a pretty good deal.
.89 - Pasta Roni or Rice-a-Roni (limit 6). Go HERE and print 2 copies of the $1/3 coupon and buy them for about .56 each.
$1 - Pillsbury cake mixes (10/$10) - I would hold off on this one unless you have a coupon because you can usually get cake mixes for .50 or less.
2/$5 - Skippy peanut butter, use 2 .40/1 coupons from HERE and after doubles, get them for $1.70 each. (This is a "Living Well, Feeling Great" item - see below)
$5 Signature Cafe Whole Roasted Chicken - TUESDAY ONLY. Go HERE for a $1/1 coupon and get it for $4!

non food items:
BOGO free - Right Guard Sport or Dry Idea deodorant, use $2/1 coupon from HERE to get them for .50 to .65 each (depending on the price of the ones you choose - $2.99-$3.29) You could also try using 2 $2/1 coupons and end up getting both for free plus an overage. (Some cashiers may not allow it because of the BOGO)

Safeway also has the Living Well, Feeling Great promotion going on. For every $30 you spend on participating products, get a $10 off coupon for your next visit. Keep in mind that the $30 can be before any manufacturer coupons. I don't see any really great match ups for this right now, but it is pretty late. I'll update if I come up with some things tomorrow.

This post is part of the original Grocery Gathering!

Albertson's Deals 4/15 to 4/21

Here are a few decent deals I see at Albertson's for the week:

.77/lb - chicken drumsticks, thighs, leg quarters or whole fryers

.88/bag - carrots (2 lbs)
.88 each - mangoes
.44 each - green onions
.88 each - avocadoes
.88/lb 0 Braeburn apples

Buy 2 Barilla pasta sauces, get 2 Barilla pastas free. Sauces are $2.50 each. Use 2 .50/1 Barilla Pasta coupons and 2 .55/1 Barilla sauces. This will take $2.10 off, making the total $2.90 - not bad for 2 sauces and 2 pastas!

7Up, RC, or A&W 12 packs 4/$9, so $2.25 each - not bad!

This post is listed at the original Grocery Gathering - go visit and see all of the other deals out there!

King Sooper's Deals This Week April 15-21

Here are some of the best deals I see. Be sure to check your ad for other sale items!

.88 each - 2 count bag organic avocados
.88/lb - organic zucchini squash

2/$3.00 - Kroger cheese - 8 oz bars or shreds or 6 oz deli thins

Other grocery items:
.88 - Blue Label Bread
$2.18 - Kellogg's Cereal, use $1.50/1 coupon from 4/5 RP and get it for .68 a box (the $1.50 coupon was sporadic - in some cases it was only $1.00/1)
.88 each - Birdseye or Green Giant Vegetables, use .35/1 coupon from 3/29 SS insert and after double, get them for .18 each!

Household/non-food items:
$1.88 - SUN Burst Laundry Detergent
.88 - Softsoap Elements Hand Soap, use .35/1 coupon from 3/29 SS insert and get it for .18 after double
$2.00 Colgate Toothpaste, use .75/1 coupon from 3/29 SS, after double get it for $1.00. However, unless you REALLY need toothpaste, don't do this because you can usually get it free or much cheaper.
.88 - Suave Shampoo, Conditioner or lotion, use $1/2 coupon from 3/1 RP insert to get them for .38 each (if you're local (Co Spgs) and you need this coupon, I have a few and won't be using it, so email me and I'll gladly share! email: There is also a $1.75/3 coupon in the same insert, which would allow you to get them for about .30 each. Again, I'm happy to share these coupons, so let me know!! I am superstocked on shampoo and conditioner right now!

This post is part of the original Grocery Gathering - go check out all of the other great deals!

K-Mart Doubles Update

I called again this morning because I just know that not every single store is participating. This lady actually looked it up for me and she said that the Co Spgs stores will NOT be participating, but that the KC area stores will. So, all of you in KC - be sure to take advantage. I'll post a coupon match up as it gets closer. I'm also waiting for a list of the stores that are participating in both states and when I have them, I'll post.

Have a great Tuesday!

KMART Doubles Back AGAIN!!

I called K-Mart's national customer service tonight to ask if they knew which stores would be participating in the super double coupons next week, and she told me that as far as they know at this point, all stores will be participating. Obviously we all know that she could have just been misinformed, but I am hoping that the stores here in Colorado Springs will be participating. It would be SO great to be able to do my super double shopping without husband will finally be home this weekend (after 9 long weeks!!) I'm especially keeping my fingers crossed for all of my friends and family in the KC area that haven't been able to get in on the fun yet!! I'll keep you posted if/when I hear more!

Another Walgreens Deal

If you're able to snag 4 bags of Easter Hershey's kisses on 50% clearance for $1.25 each, you can then submit the receipt for Easy Saver rebate #25 to get $5 back. Nothing like 4 bags of Hershey's kisses for FREE! :)

My Walgreens Trip Today

I did 3 transactions. My grand total spent between the 3 was $7.41 (all on my Walgreen's gift card from previous rebate deals). I left with everything pictured plus, as you can see, $10 in RR! Basically, I made money shopping at Walgreen's today. :)

Here is your free movie Monday Redbox code valid until midnight tonight:

My Saturday Shopping Trip

Swagbucks - Now's the Time to Sign Up if You Haven't Yet!

I know I talk about swagbucks a lot, so I'm sorry that I'm dedicating another post to it. But, I have to celebrate the fact that I just earned my 9th $5.00 Amazon gift card. More importantly, I was contacted by the swagbucks company and offered a special code only available through my blog that you can redeem when you sign up for swagbucks for the first time. When you sign up for swagbucks, you automatically get your first 3 swagbucks. By using this code, you get an additional 2 swagbucks, so you start out with 5 - only 40 away from your first $5 Amazon gift card (if you choose that). So, if you have not yet signed up, but have been thinking about it, now is the time. If you've already signed up, but your husband hasn't', now's the time to get him signed up! The code is case sensitive and it is:

This code is only valid for 24 hours, so go HERE and get signed up ASAP!!

If you want to find out more about what swagbucks is - go HERE

A little tip for earning swagbucks faster - do a swagbucks search for everything - if you're going to log on to your email, type in "gmail" for example in your swagbucks toolbar. It's a small extra step, but it's worth it to rack up those swagbucks!

More Good Printables

$1.00/1 Mission product HERE (hopefully some cheap tortillas will result from this one)

Have I Mentioned How Much I Love Swagbucks?!

I know I mention this a lot, but I'm really loving the swagbucks thing. There is nothing required of you other than to use the swagbucks site or the swagbucks toolbar to do your internet searches (much like you would Google or any other search engine). Occasionally, as you're searching, the screen pops up a little swagbuck for you, and once you earn enough, you can redeem them for great free stuff. I intend to use mine for free $5.00 Amazon gift cards, and I'm so excited to report that I recently earned my 8th gift card! I've only been doing this for a couple of months, so I'm feeling pretty good about my winnings! If you haven't yet signed up, go HERE and starting earning your free stuff!! It's super simple! And, if you have a blog - do a post about swagbucks and get people to sign up under you so that you can earn even faster!
